With start of 1 July 2013, the new regulations are binding.
This date is now in sight, and we want to inform you about the changes in a nutshell. In the future, all our products will comply with the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation:

1. CE marking
2. All products with CE marking require a Declaration of Performance.
3. All construction products, which are covered by an European standard, require CE marking.
4. For each construction product, a technical documentation (if necessary also a test certificate) is required.
5. The retention period for the documentation is 10 years after the end of the manufacture of the product.

Based on the new regulation, the labels of our products will change (compare picture above).

Also the responsibilities are reviewed based on the new Construction Products Regulation. Following applies for manufacturers:

Article 2, paragraph 19
"Manufacture means any natural or legal person who manufactures a product, or has a product designed or manufactured and markets that product under his name or brand." (Distributors can become manufacturer too.)

Important for distributors:
Article 14, paragraph 2
"Before making a construction product available on the market, distributors shall ensure that the product, where required, bears the CE marking and is accompanied by the documents required under this Regulation and by instructions and safety information in a language determined by the Member State concerned, which can be easily understood by users. (Article 14, Paragraph 2)"

Under the new regulation, Declarations of Performance are required for each product or product group. Following contents must be considered in the process:

• Clear identification code of the product type (item no.)
• Types, batches or serial number for tracing
• Intended use:
• Name, register trade name and address of the manufacturer
• Contact address of a proxy (address that relates to the Declaration of Performance, e.g. abroad)
• System and systems for the assessment of the performance stability
• Standard of the construction product
• If necessary, number and address of the notified body
• Construction products that have an ETAG
• Declared performance
• Signature and position of the authorized agent of the manufacturer
